This section is upstream of the NYS Salmon River Fish Hatchery property and is approximately .6 miles long. It has a variety of water conditions. It has deep holes, riffles, and pocket water which are excellent for Salmon and Steelhead. This area offers more water to fish and is very popular in the spring. The current can be very strong in the upper fly stretch, especially in the spring time. Mare sure to use good judgment when fishing this section of the river.
